El Salvador: Stream acquires Dell Call Cener

American company, Stream, acquired the local operations of the Dell call center. The acquisition includes the labor force of over 900 workers.

The acquisition, which begun with an offer from Stream that was not revealed, is an operation with which Dell seeks to "increase the efficiency of its business and to provide greater added value to its clients."
The new firm will initially provide technical support services, customer and sales services, said the executive vice president of global sales and marketing at Stream, Robert Dechant, who was very excited about the acquisition of the third most important call center in Latin America.
The executive affirmed that as they consolidated the business in the country, they will expand their services to other categories and other office functions.

Dell's New Building in Panama

The computer manufacturer has increased its investment in the Canal country, with a new headquarters building, at a cost of $10 million.

With an investment of $10 million, the multinational computer corporation Dell plans to open its new head office building in Panama in mid 2012.

Americatel to establish call center in El Salvador

September 2008

Telecommunications company, Americatel, is betting on call centers and will base its call center operations, which it previously shared with Guatemala, in El Salvador.

Regina Ungo, business development manager for Americatel, commented that this initiative is because the company is forwarding its plans to make a transition from telephone and carrier services in the country to focus more on call center services, a process that will not be completed until next year.
