El Salvador Purchases Asphalt Materials

Companies where invited to bid for supplying of rock materials and petroleum derivatives to produce 12,000 tons of asphalt.

The Ministry of Public Works, Transportation and Housing and the Ministry of Urban Development are purchasing the supply of stone materials and petroleum products for the production of asphalt.

The materials required are soil and stone (Mud and soil, stone, sand, clay, granite, marble, gravel, pumice, clay, gypsum, clay, etc).

Date of submission for offers is December 3rd, 2010.

The Ministry of Public Works postponed until November 26th the date for opening bids.

The receipt and opening of bids for the construction of boulevard Diego de Holguín was scheduled for Thursday November 11th, according to the initial schedule.

"Public Works Minister, Gerson Martinez, explained that the main reason was the number of inquiries received from prospective bidders on the project.

Funding Approved for Road Infrastructure

The Salvadoran Congress has authorized loan applications of up to $30 million for the Rural Connectivity Programme in the North and East of the country.

The amount will be managed by the Ministry of Finance and will be signed with the OPEN Fund for International Development (OFID), and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), reported DiarioCoLatino.com.
