El Salvador: More Wheat Flour Production

With the expansion of its plant from May, Agroindustrias Gumarsal will increase the number of tons of processed wheat per day from 150 to 400.

In addition to the increase in daily production of wheat flour, Agroindustries Gumarsal will be venturing into pulp, with the entry into operation of the expansion of Molinos San Juan. The company, which claims to have 17% of the consumer market for flour in the country, plans to raise its stake up to 40% of the market once it begins to increase production, scheduled for mid-May.

The CEO of the company, Wilfredo Guerra, told Elmundo.sv that "... 'Molinos San Juan, processes 150 tons of wheat per day. The new production line with a capacity to process 250 tons per day, will allow Gumarsal to process about 400 tons of wheat per day. The businessman said that monthly local consumption is around 800,000 bags of 50 pounds of wheat flour. The second floor of Molino San Juan will allow for an increase in production of up to 350,000 bags of 50 pounds per month.'"

"... The project, which at the moment is 80% complete, includes using state of the art automated European machinery. The new storage silos for raw material has a capacity of 3,600 tons. "
