Fusades Releases Legal and Institutional Status Report

The Salvadoran Foundation for Economic and Social Development (Fusades) has presented its first "Legal and Institutional Status" report.

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

For more than two decades Fusades has produced a quarterly social and economic status report enabling various aspects of the Salvadoran economy's performance to be evaluated. This is why it has deemed it appropriate for its Legal Studies Department (DEL in Spanish) to produce a similar report on judicial and institutional subjects giving a six-monthly view of El Salvador's state of affairs.

This first report seeks to identify those events affecting the judicial and institutional system, interpret them systematically and make the information available clearly. The objective is to allow the impact of the country's legal status on the law, democracy and business to be qualitatively evaluated.

The methodology used follows the structure of the DEL with four strategic axes analyzed:

* Rule of Law and Institutional Constraints
* Judicial and Citizen Security
* Transparency
* Business Climate and Trade Legislation
