EU Resumes C.A. Negotiation Without Honduras

Negotiations for the association agreement would be resumed in September without Honduras, who could rejoin later if it resolves its political situation.

Negotiation Without Honduras to be Decided by EU

The European Union will study tomorrow if they resume trade negotiations with Central America without Honduras.

The topic will be analyzed in the Latin America Committee of the European Council (COLAT).

Commerce authorities from El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Costa Rica decided to resume negotiations in September.

Guatemala's Economic Minister, Rubén Morales, informed that if the Honduran political crisis is not resolved by September, they will consider resuming negotiations without the country, and letting Honduras rejoin later.

Central America Will Study EU Agreement

Next week in Costa Rica, the countries of the region will define their negotiation strategy with the European Union.

The meeting will take place at the Central American Integration Secretary, known in Spanish as Sieca.
