Safer Medial Group (Costa Rica) signed an alliance to improve patient care with Jackson Memorial Hospital in the USA.

The Safer Medical Group is comprised of Costa Rican doctors with different specialties.

Leticia Vindas wrote in El Financiero: "Foreign patients who wish to have any treatment in Costa Rica will be attended by the Safer Medical Group, while Costa Ricans who require a treatment that does not exist in the country may get it at Jackson Memorial Hospital in the USA.

An alliance between Cervecería Centroamericana de Guatemala and Cervecería Costa Rica will allow the two to expand the range of options available to beer drinkers.

The agreement seeks to satisfy the demand for new products in the brewing niche of both countries. They plan to do this with the appearance in the Costa Rican market of the Gallo brand, and of the Imperial brand in Guatemala.

Supermarkets form regional alliance to boost efficiency

Sixteen Central American supermarket chains have formed an alliance to boost efficiency and fight regional competition led by Wal-Mart.

The alliance, known as Sucap, is still at the stage of defining the structure it will use for joint operations, said Guillermo Aguilar, managing director of Perimercados, one of four Costa Rican members.
