El Salvador develops Easy Export program

El Salvador Postal Service Easy Export users can save between $80 to $140 per shipment.

State and Finance Ministers, through the El Salvador Postal and Customs Services, signed an agreement to develop the Easy Export program.

In that regard the Minister of State, Douglas Alejandro Alas, said that Easy Export is part of the President's Program called "Efficient El Salvador" making it possible for craftsmen and small and medium business persons to directly export up to 30 kilograms, in a simple, economic and safe manner from the offices of the Postal Service.

El Salvador: Exports Via State Post Office

The Directorate General of Posts has announced a program that would allow SMEs to export goods via mail, providing permission to export via a simplified system.

The initiative of the entity is primarily directed to micro, small and medium-sized exporters.

"... The ‘Exportafácil’ (Easyexport) plan is aimed at individual craftsmen and other organizations so that they can participate in the international market through the implementation of a Simplified Export System using the post service."

DHL Express Rates Up 5%

The provider of express delivery services, has announced a general price increase for January 2013.

The general price increase is 6.9%, but is partially offset by a reduction of 2% in the amount of fuel surcharge charged by the carrier.

New Regulations for Costa Rican Postal Services

The bill would grant state-owned "Correos de Costa Rica" a monopoly over letters or packages weighting less than 500 grams.

These regulations would only affect basic postal service and not courier services.

"Exporta Fácil" System Expanded in Costa Rica

August 2009

Aimed at SMEs, "Exporta Fácil", Spanish for "Easy Export", allows companies to export through the postal service, and is now available in 47 postal offices.

The system permits exports of up to 30 kilograms and three cubic meters to 190 different destinations. It was created through an association between Procomer, an exports promotion agency, and the Costa Rican Postal Service.
