“Cup of Excellence” Starts in El Salvador

Until May 7, 28 international judges will be selecting the best coffee which will then be offered up to electronic auction.

Judges accredited by the Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE) from at least 11countries, will select the best from among the 60 participating samples, each provided from similarly sized coffee farms.

The samples that reach the qualifying round will participate in the online auction to be held on June 16.

"The 60 samples analyzed belong to Pacamara varieties and blends with other varieties such as Bourbon Pacas, Pacamara and Typica. The samples come from all the country's coffee regions“ noted an Elsalvador.com article.

Excellence Cup in Nicaragua

Between April 23 and 29, 20 international judges will meet in Nicaragua to choose the country's finest coffee at a contest called “Excellence Cup”.

National judges are analyzing 60 coffee samples to select the best 30. These will participate in the contest, which will take place in the coffee growing area of Ocotal.

Thirty-two judges from different countries will come together until May 22 in Nicaragua to select the best coffee at the Cup of Excellence competition.

The final stage will take place in Estelí, where participating coffees will be valued in the search for potential buyers, and the best coffee in Nicaragua will be selected.
