Cuba Interested in Honduran Livestock

Cuban buyers, through the embassy, have requested to explore cattle purchasing possibilities in Honduras.

Thursday, February 12, 2009 publishes: "The Government reported yesterday that they have already initiated contacts with the Cuban government regarding the export of cattle as Honduran producers have requested aid in finding new markets because the local price has been lowered due to competitive offers."

"The Vice-Minister of Agriculture, Angel Murillo Selva, reported that they met with the Counselor Minister of the Cuban Embassy, Ileana Fonseca, who declared to him that on the island they have good references about the quality of Honduran cattle and of their good sanitary management."

Nicaragua - Cuba Trade Agreement

The agreement approved by the National Assembly of Nicaragua allows entry into the Cuban market of products such as meat, milk, honey and black beans.

The agreement, which aims to extend preferential entry of goods into Cuba, includes tax treatments and sanitary and phytosanitary measures to be observed in the exchange of products.
