Costa Rican Credit for SMEs
State banks will allocate $670 million through different programs aimed at Small and Medium Enterprises.

According to a survey conducted by La Nacion with State owned financial institutions, the sectors most favored will be service and trade.
The Banco Popular will make the sum available for MSMEs that lack the collateral needed for a credit line.
It is estimated that approximately 300 SMEs will benefit from this operation.
BCIE granted a credit line of $16.3 million to the Bank of Rural Development, known as Banrural, to be loaned to SMEs.
Three years after the entry into operation of the Development Bank, the percentage of MSMEs accessing credit as companies has barely increased.
