Costa Rica Signs "Open Skies" Agreement with Brazil

The countries signed an open skies agreement on February 22nd.

Said agreement grants airlines much more flexibility when selecting routes, frequencies and prices. adds that "the international policy known as 'open skies' upholds each country's immigration and aviation laws, while permitting carriers much more flexibility."

The agreement will come into effect on August.

This agreement is the second signed by the country this year, the last one was with Brazil in February.

"This agreement will enable Canadian airlines to operate a route or routes in Costa Rican territory, make stops from other countries or changeovers of passengers in transit.

Qatar and Costa Rica Sign Aviation Agreement

The open skies agreement aims to increase flight frequencies and tourism between the two countries.

Under the agreement, Qatar airlines may operate in Costa Rican territory making stopovers from third party countries or transfers of passengers and vice versa.

"This agreement reinforces the commitment to strengthen the tourism industry by attracting airlines.

Costa Rica and United Arab Emirates Agree to 'Open Skies'

The two countries have signed an open skies agreement, under which its airlines may operate without restrictions on routes between the two destinations.

The agreement includes a list of participating companies, which on the Arab Emirates side are Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways, Air Arabia, RAK Airways and FlyDubai.

Progress is being made on an agreement for freedoms of the air to boost tourism between the two countries by increasing air links.

A Costa Rican delegation composed of the chief of Tourism, Allan Flores and Ana Cristina Jenkins, Deputy Minister of Transport is currently visiting the Asian nation negotiating the agreement.
