Costa Rica: Sale of Animal Nutrition Company

In Costa Rica, the manufacturer and marketer of laboratory animal feed, Faryvet, has been acquired by the Distrivet group, made up of Colombian, Panamanian and Costa Rican capital.

With the acquisition of Laboratorio  Faryvet, the Distrivet group intends to strengthen its business strategy, its presence in Costa Rica and particularly in Central America, where it plans to expand from Guatemala to the Colombian market.

The market for production and distribution of nutritional premixes, and pet and livestock food in the region has been growing in recent years.

Heiner Hernández Ávila, from the Board of Faryvet, which has existed for 40 years, told Elfinancierocr.com that "... the sale was completed in the last quarter of 2016, and the merger will increase customer responsiveness and their level of competitiveness. "

Hernandez added that "... with this consolidation we will be able to offer the market comprehensive solutions to their needs, from technical consulting, development, testing, vaccines, nuclei, premixes and a wide range of manufactured products and brands representing products recognized in the animal health and pet food segment."
