Costa Rica: Real Estate projects in Osa stopped

The Ministry of the Enviroment in Costa Rica is halting the construction due to irregularities with permits.

Recently a 3500 hectare project belonging to Zawadi Investments was closed because it only had a permit for 500 square meters of construction.

The Minister of the Environment, Energy and Telecommunications, Roberto Dobles, indicated that they will enforce the full extent of the law on these projects.

Lisbeth Quesada, ombudswoman, indicated that she will hold the Osa Municipality accountable. "We are going to ask the mayor for explanations and for them to turn in a report on the permits that the Municipality has granted."
