The new regulations will come into force in July 2017 and state that pesticide registrations can be renewed for equal consecutive periods of ten years and must be processed in the six months prior to their expiration.

Agricultural entrepreneurs expect the newregulationpublished yesterday in the official newspaper La Gaceta to start solving bureaucratic problems that have affected the sector for years, as before now they had to wait several months to complete the process for registering products.
The new"Technical Regulations: Agricultural Inputs, Formulated Synthetic Pesticides, Technical Grade Active Ingredients, Adjuvants and Related Substances for Agricultural Use,Registration, Use and Control",will enter into force on July 13 this year.
The registry will be administered by the State Plant Health System (SFE), with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock being the relevant authority, but also involved in the process are the Ministries of Health and Environment and Energy, with ruling which will be binding for the SFE.
Among the advances included in the new regulations, is registration through incorporation of technical grade active elements that have already been registered in other member countries of the OECD.
Since November 4, 2019, the SAT Form 0471 entered into force in Guatemala to register in the new Electronic Regime for the Return of Tax Credit.
To apply to this mechanism, one of the requirements is to be incorporated into the Online Electronic Invoice Regime. According to Agexport, exporters of both goods and services are also eligible.
