Costa Rica: New Flights to Liberia

Air Canada is to operate a weekly flight between Montreal and Guanacaste, while Apple Vacations will offer a weekly connection from Chicago.

Air Canada's inaugural flight to Costa Rica's north west is planned for the end of December and will seek to serve the market of travelers interested in "tropical" destinations, explained representatives of the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT in Spanish).

Nacion.com reports that, "the route is aimed at high income tourists earning more than $65,000 a year, educated, and likely to spend above average relative to other Canadian tourists".

The Chicago flight is due to be inaugurated in January 2011.

Starting in February, Canada's Air Transat will add two direct flights from the City of Toronto, one to Liberia and the other to San Jose.

The North American airline adds a new destination, since it already had two flights a week between Montreal and Liberia, and also another two from San Jose to the Canadian city.

More Iberia Flights Between Spain and Panama

April 2011

The Panamanian government and the airline have widened the scope of their agreement to add a fifth weekly flight with each party investing $370,000 in the route's market.

The signing of the new agreement between Iberia and the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) will increase the frequency of flights to five per week from Madrid Barajas airport to Panama's Tocumen International airport.

New Barranquilla - Panama Flight

August 2009

From August 7th, Aero República will operate a new Barranquilla - Panama flight, three times a week.

The new flight leaves Barranquilla at 7:32 AM, and lands in Panama City at 8:47 AM, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The return route takes off from Tocumen airport at 8:13 PM, landing in Barranquilla at 9:28 PM, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
