Costa Rica: March Inflation at 0.24%

The consumer price index increased 0.24% in March, a rise of 2.57% so far 2010.

Alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, dining out, rent and housing services increased the most.

El Financiero reports: “Inter annual variation (April 2009 – March 2010) stood at 5.84%, 6.48 points less than the previous year (12.32%)”.

Annual inflation accumulated in March reached 3.26%, driven by increases in articles for the home and domestic services, transportation and entertainment.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in November compared to October recorded a monthly rise of 0.1 percent for both the National Urban area and the districts of Panama and San Miguelito and Other Urban areas.

Costa Rica: CPI Increases 2.96% up to September

The National Institute of Statistics and Census has released a report on the main results of the Consumer Price Index for the month of September 2012.

September showed a variation of 0.07% compared with the index for the month of August, while the cumulative change in the last twelve months of the General Index is 4.47%, less than the variation of the same period last year (5.17%).

Panama: CPI up to August Up 6.1%

The consumer price index (CPI) for August grew by 6.1% compared to the same month last year.

A statement by the Controller General of the Republic of Panama reads:

The variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in August compared to July 2012 showed an increase of 0.5 percent in the National Urban area, for the districts of Panama and San Miguelito and 0.6 percent, and in other urban areas 0.3 percent.
