Costa Rica: 0.97% YoY Inflation in May 2015

The overall level of the consumer price index in May is 170.176, which represents a variation of -0.29% compared to the index of April (with a value of 170.679).

In five months accumulated variation has gone down by - 0.35%.

- General level of Consumer Price Index in May is 170.176, which represents a variation of -0.29% compared with the index of April (with a value of 170.679).

- The accumulated variation over five months of the year (January-May 2015) of the overall index is -0.35%, less than the variation in the same period last year (3.75%).

- During the last twelve months (June 2014 to May 2015) the overall index is 0.97%, lower than the variation in the same period last year (4.21%).

In August the consumer price index recorded a monthly variation of 0.03%, putting annual inflation at 0.60%, and inflation accumulated so far this year at 0.97%.

The groups with the greatest contribution to the CPI in August 2016 were: Rent and housing services and entertainment and culture.

Guatemala: Annual Inflation up to May is 4.36%

June 2016

In May the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.46%, with inflation accumulated so far this year being 1.97%.

A report by the National Institute of Statistics states that the Consumer Price Index for May 2016 stood at 124.08, recording a monthly variation of 0.46%, and compared to May last year when the variation was 4.36%.

June 2015

In May, the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.20%, slowing from April and placing the accumulated inflation in the year at 0.71%.  

From a report issued by the National Statistics Institute:

The Consumer Price Index for May 2015 stood at 118.90, recording a monthly variation of 0.20%, and compared to May last year the change was 2.55%.

Costa Rica: Annual Inflation 1.81% up to April

Keeping the same pace of deceleration seen in recent months, annual inflation in April was 1.81%, registering a negative monthly variation of 0.08%.

The most significant price reduction in April was seen in the transport sector, with a negative variation of 5.44%, followed by clothing and footwear, with a negative rate of 1.11% sector.
