Costa Rica: Holiday Inn Escazú to Begin Construction in October

This is the first of seven hotels that Agrisal Group, in partnership with InterContinental Hotels Group, expects to build in Central America.

The 10,000 square meter hotel will have 163 rooms, and it is expected to start operations in 2010.

German Rivas, in his article in Laprensagrafica.com, reported statements by Eduardo Quiñónez, director of AGRISAL Group's hotel division: “It's the starting flag in our race for regional hotel leadership. We are already among the 10 largest and most important hotel groups in Central America, and the goal is to become the second largest group and to regionalize successfully."

Two New Hotels in Costa Rica

March 2010

Holiday Inn Escazú will open its doors in 2010, while Courtyard Marriot Alajuela will do it in 2012.

$15 million were invested in Holiday Inn Escazú, with construction starting by the end of 2009. It is scheduled to open before 2011.

Construction of Courtyard Marriot Alajuela, the second of its kind in the country, is planned for mid 2010, and should be ready by early 2012.

Agrisal to invest US$70 million in Central American hotels

The hotels division of the El Salvador-based conglomerate Grupo Agrisal spends to invest US$70 million in Central America over the next seven years, the division's chief executive Eduardo Quiñónez said.

Projects highlighted by Quiñónez include the construction of a hotel in San Salvador's Zona Rosa and a refurbishment and expansion to mark the 50th anniversary of the Hotel Radisson.

Agrisal is planning the construction of a new hotel, as well as extending the conventions center located at Hotel Radisson.

These projects, to be developed in the next 5 years, will be part of a large real estate complex, which includes the recently inaugurated Torre Futura.

The project, by the Salvadoran Agrisal group, required an investment of $20 million and will be inaugurated this week in Escazú.

The new "green” Holiday Inn hotel, which will use environmentally friendly technologies, is sited 30 minutes from San Jose in one of the busiest areas of economic and urban development
