Employers opinions on the status of the Costa Rican economy, their company's situation and its outlook for the coming year remain largely positive. However, they are somewhat more cautious than four months ago.

Deloitte asked 176 of Costa Rica's biggest companies to respond on questions relating to the business climate, local and regional expectations, and employment trends with the aim of giving the sector a summary of local economy's status.

Of those surveyed, 52% believe that the current economic situation is better than a year ago while 36% say there has been no change and 10.8% think things have got worse. While this demonstrates a generally positive outlook, compared to march the percentage of respondents who believe that the current situation has improved is less.
