Costa Rica Apr 2007-08 coffee exports up 25% to 241866 bags
Costa Rican coffee exports in April, the 7th month of the new 2007-08 crop cycle, were up 25% to 241,866 (60-kilogram) bags, the official Costa Rican Coffee Institute, or Icafe, said Monday.

This compares to Costa Rican coffee exports of 193,406 bags in April last year during the 2006-07 crop cycle, Icafe said in its latest monthly report on the new harvest year (October-September).
El Salvadoran coffee exports in April, the 7th month of the new 2007-08 crop cycle, were up 55% to 214,696 bags (60-kilogram) bags, the Salvadoran Coffee Council said Thursday.
In 2008/2009, the country produced 2.06 million 46-kg sacks, an 18% reduction when compared to 2007/08, when production reached 2.43 million sacks.
3.39 million sacks (60 kilos each) were exported during the 2007/08 harvest which ended in September, way above the 3.22 million for the previous harvest.
According to the Salvadoran Coffee Council, exports totaled 183,113 60-kilogram bags for the month of April.
