Construction: $160 Million for New Investments

A hydroelectric plant in Guatemala, a hotel in Panama and the expansion of an industrial plant in Costa Rica are part of the investments planned for the coming months in the region.

The interactive system "Construction in Central America", from the Trade Intelligence Unit of CentralAmericaData, includes the updated list of public and private construction projects that are expected to be developed, which in just that month totaled close to $1,000 in projected investment.

In Guatemala Oxec II, S.A. plans to build a hydroelectric plant with a generation capacity of 75 MW at Finca Semuc Uno, in the department of Alta Verapaz. According to the study, approximately $143 million will be invested in the development of this project.

Moi Bo, S.A. presented the EIA to build a 36 level hotel near Uruguay Street in Panama City that will have 100 rooms. Approximately $11 million is expected to be invested in the project called "Construction of the Moibo Hotel."

In Costa Rica, SAE-A Spinning S.R.L. plans to expand an industrial complex in Arenilla, Cartago. The works also include the construction of a new industrial building and the expansion of the parking area, and the investment will amount to $15 million.
