TV sets: Trade between Central America and Mexico

Between January and November 2017, countries in the region imported $189 million worth of television sets from Mexico, and 56% was purchased by companies in Guatemala and Panama.

Imports by country 
During the first 11 months of 2017, the main buyer of televisions from Mexico was Guatemala, with $62 million, followed by Panama, with $44 million, El Salvador, with $26 million, Honduras, with $23 million, Costa Rica, with $22 million and Nicaragua, with $11 million.

Variation of regional imports 
Between January and November 2016 and the same period in 2017 the import value registered a fall of 6%, going from $202 million to $189 million.

The reduction contrasts with the figures recorded in the same periods of previous years, as in the first 11 months of 2014 and 2016 imports reported an increase of 18% and 4% respectively.

Central America: TV Imports Up 9%

September 2017

In 2016 TV imports in Central American countries totaled $424 million, 9% more than in 2015, and the value imported from China grew by 47% compared to 2015.

Between January and September 2016, the countries in the region imported $262 million worth of TVs, which is an increase of 14% compared to the same period in 2015.
