From the executive summary of a report by PROCOMER entitled "The fashion and design industry in Panama and marketing strategies": 

Opportunities for internationalization of the Costa Rican fashion and design sector in Panama depend on the category, since both local and international supply varies with the type of goods being sold. The particularities of each should be taken into account when defining market entry strategies.

- Women's Clothing:   the most developed sector by Panamanian designers. The product range of imported designer wear is wide and comes from the US and Colombia, which is increasing its competition. Being providers to boutiques is one form of entering the market, however consignment sales are not recommended, positioning yourself by dressing public figures and using digital media are important. The joint participation of several Costa Rican designers in a collective store is an option.
