Imports by country  
In the first nine months of 2016 the main importer of tires for trucks and buses in Central America was Guatemala with $49 million, followed by Costa Rica with $33 million, Honduras, with $24 million, Nicaragua with $23 million, El Salvador with $17 million and Panama, with $16 million.

Behavior of regional imports 
Between January 2012 and September 2016, the month that recorded the highest monthly import value was August 2016, when the region as a whole bought $23 million worth of tires for trucks and buses, while the month with the lowest figure was February 2013, with $12 million.

The value of imports for the first nine months of the year compared to the same period previously grew by 4% in 2013, 3% 2014, 17% in 2015 and showed no significant variation in 2016.

Origin of imports 
During the first three quarters of 2016, 64% of the value of imports from Central America came from China, 6% from Japan, 6% from Brazil, 5% from South Korea and 4% from the US.
