Gollo Stores Expands in Costa Rica

The company announced the opening of six new stores and that it will relocate several of its current shops.

For the month of November, GOLLO is preparing the opening of new outlets in San Vito de Coto Brus, downtown San Jose, Palmar Norte and Santa Rosa de Pocosol in San Carlos. These new stores will generate 27 direct jobs.

Also as part of the policy of the company´s expansion plan, GOLLO projects to remodel and relocate some of the current stores to larger facilities which are better equipped in order to ensure better customer service.

In Costa Rica, the Gollo chain of stores invested $2 million in the opening of three new sales points in Guachipelín, Tibás and San José.

Representatives of the company dedicated to commercialize electrical appliances, furniture and other similar articles, informed that $1 million was invested in the operation of the store in Guachipelín, and in the stores in Tibás and San José, the investment totaled $500,000 each.

Maria Fernanda Jaramillo, executive vice president of the company, told Prensa Libre that "an express format will be created by the middle of this year at the Avenida de las Américas, in area 13.... The expansion plan also includes opening a store on route to the Atlantic...".

Costa Rica: Gollo Chain Opens Distribution Center

With a $12 million investment the chain opened its distribution center in Coyol of Alajuela.

The appliance’s store new distribution center has 20,000 square meters.

"Currently, Gollo Group, a market leader in sales of home appliances, has 105 outlets across the country and generated 1,350 jobs,” writes Elfinancierocr.com.

The home appliances company will inaugurate a distribution center in El Coyol, Alajuela, in March 2010.

This center will ship goods and products to the chain's 102 stores in the country.

Daniel Coto, commercial manager, told Nacion.com: "We seek more efficient logistics and cost savings".
