Bayer invests $65 million in El Salvador

The company's plans contemplate investing another $8 million in a plant located in Ilopango and exporting to South America.

Since the Bonima Corporation changed hands to Bayer, the plant located in Ilopango has received $65 million in investment from the European Company, according to management.
"In the short term, the next 3 to 5 years, we are planning to invest $6 million euros," the equivalent of $8.54 million, explained Alejandro Alarcón, plant manager.

The production plant is thought to be one of the most important for the German group, Bayer, since it is the third largest on the world market for OTC's and produces 3 million pills daily, of which 12% is exported to Mexico and the rest to Central America and the Caribbean.
