BT offers new services in Latin America

BT has announced that it has obtained certifications and designations from Cisco Systems in Latin America that will allow it to offer a new range of services to its customers in the region.

The subsidiaries of BT obtained the Cisco Gold Certification in Brazil and the Silver Certification in Argentina and Mexico. As well, several of its globally administered services qualify for the Cisco Powered status, the highest designation within Cisco's Managed Services Channel Program.
The package of IT and telecommunication services offered by Cisco, the industry leader, provides innovative solutions that consolidate the commitment of BT Global Services to contribute to its customers' competitivity in the digital network sector.

Costa Rica: Telecoms Market Data Must be Updated

A ruling by the Administrative Court found in favor of the state run telecoms company and obliges the regulator to update the relevant market data and level the playing field for all operators.

In the lawsuit, the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) argued that the failure to update data on relevant markets and operators prevented the Superintendency of Telecommunications from providing equal treatment to all telecommunications companies operating in the country. Because of this, Crhoy.com reports, "... only the ICE can be fined or receive penalties for noncompliance."

New Data Center for $12 million

May 2013

With an investment of $12 million GBM will inaugurate its new data center in the complex Zona Pradera, Guatemala, where they hope to offer virtual services to customers throughout Latin America.

According to Ruben Rios, GMB general manager (IBM representative for Central America and the Caribbean), the intention of the Data Center is to provide a platform for cloud services and facilitate access to such technology to Small and Medium Enterprises and and the public sector.

BT Signs Alliance with TecApro

October 2009

Under the agreement, TecApro will resell BT's global services portfolio.

TecApro was certified as Gold Member of BT Alliance. This will foster the sale of BT services in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.

"BT Alliance Partner Programme enables IT companies and network solutions providers to resell BT's global services portfolio", informed website ITNow.
