Awards for the best web sites from El Salvador

The 24 best websites from El Salvador were awarded yesterday with the 2008 "Arroba de Oro".

The prestigious event awarded each of the 24 categories, with the top winner being, which also got a cash prize from the sponsors.

The 2008 Edition of Gold Medal had 268 finalists from a total of 882 that registered initially. The evaluation of the finalists and winners was done by national and international judges.

The president of the Latin American Gold Medal and Executive Director of the El Diario de Hoy, Fabricio Altamirano, hosted the awards last night at a hotel in San Salvador.

American company, Critical Mass, joined up with Costa Rican firm, Grupo Garnier, to open a subsidiary in the country called The Hangar Interactive.

The Hangar Interactive will create website for marketing and will hire 30 persons immediately. However this figure should reach 250 within the next three years, said Gabriela Llobet, director of Cinde.
