Awards: Schools for $40 million

Constructora Meco won the contract to carry out studies, design and construction of several schools in Panama nationwide.

The Ministry of Education awarded the contract for $40,416,438.13 for studies, design, construction, replacement of ranch-style infrastructure and other renovations and expansions in schools nationwide.

With a lead time comprising 547 calendar days, the work will be carried out by Costa Rica's Constructora Meco, SA, winner of the public tender in which it took part alongside the companies Bienes Raíces y Construcciones Nostrot with a bid of $40,470. 710.26, and Metales Panamericanos S.A. with an offer of $35,691,047.60.

The Ministry of Education had set a reference price of $35,168,468.67.

On November 16th, the resolution of the contracting process for the works of rehabilitation of streets in several townships of the capital of the country was published in the portal PanamaCompra.

Panama: $88 Million Road Works Awarded

February 2018

A contract has been awarded to Constructora MECO for the design, construction and maintenance of works for the renovation of the Transístmica highway, section Plaza Agora - San Isidro Station.

The companies that took part in the tender for the renovation of a stretch of approximately 10 kilometers were Constructora MECO, Sacyr Construcción, Constructora Urbana and Conalvias Construcciones, with offers of $88 million, $86 million, $87 million and $90 million, respectively.

In Panama Constructora MECO SA has been awarded contracts for studies, design, construction, replacement of ranch-style infrastructure and other renovations and expansions in schools nationwide, Phase 1.

In the tender for the replacement, remodeling and expansion of schools in the District of Muna, Ngobe Bugle, Constructora MECO SA submitted a bid of $40.4 million, competing with proposals from Bienes Raices y Construcciones Nostrot S.A. and Metales Panamericanos, S. A., who bid $40.4 million and $5.6 million respectively.
