The Council of Ministers, of the government of President Porfirio Lobo Sosa , approved the draft decree on Tuesday relating to a trust agreement for the structuring, development and financing of the operation of a bulk cargo terminal at Puerto Cortes, at the request of the National Commission for the Promotion of Public-Private Partnerships (COALIANZA).
The COALIANZA initiative seeks to streamline the operating system at the level of collecting imports and exports safely and quickly, and to change the physical structure and logistics of this important port.
It also approved a decree on the trust agreement for the structuring, development and financing of the operation of container terminal at the request of COALIANZA.
In this regard, the commissioner president and legal representative of COALIANZA, Carlos Pineda said that Puerto Cortes is very attractive, with great potential, since it has a large number of traffic of goods, allowing it to generate in the future exports with sufficient scale of economies.

The Commission for the Promotion of Public-Private Partnerships in Honduras has created a tender for a Construction Contract for the Solid Bulk Terminal of Puerto Cortes.
The National Port Authority in its capacity as Settlor and Trustee, COALIANZA, in its capacity as Settlor and Banco Atlántida in its capacity as Trustee, have signed an indenture for the Structuring, Development and Promotion of the project for a Bulk Terminal in Puerto Cortés. This Management Trust Agreement was approved in every one of its parts by the Sovereign National Congress of the Republic by Decree 82-2012 which was published in the official newspaper La Gaceta on August 31, 2012.
The National Port Authority of Honduras (ENP) has published the bidding rules to select a private operator for the bulk cargo terminal at Port Cortés.

The National Port Authority in its capacity as Settlor and Trustee, COALIANZA in its capacity as Settlor and Banco Atlántida in its capacity as Trustee, signed a Contract for Structuring, Management, Project Development and Promotion of the Bulk Terminal at Port Cortés. This Management Trust Agreement was approved in every one of its parts by the National Congress of the Republic by Decree 82-2012, which was published in the Official Gazette on August 31, 2012.
The bank will arrange for a team of advisers who will structure an international tender to award works for modernizing the port.
After calling a tender, the official body Coalianza has chosen Honduran Banco Financiera Comercial SA (Ficohsa) as trustee bank and arranger of the modernization project of Puerto Cortes.
