Amway Announces Closure of Service Center

The company reported that by 2020 will close its Financial Shared Service Center in Costa Rica, as part of a corporate strategy focused on fewer centers, but larger.

Thursday, May 23, 2019

"While we will close this center, Amway remains committed to the Costa Rican market and will continue to provide support to our businessmen and customers, our commercial operations in Costa Rica will continue normally," states a company statement.

Elobservadorcr.com reviews that "... While these decisions are always difficult, they will allow us to better serve Amway businessmen and improve our agility in a rapidly changing global marketplace," said Edgar Vargas, director of Amway's Shared Services Center.

The article adds that "... This decision will affect approximately 200 people in our center in Costa Rica and we must emphasize that it is not a reflection of the talent of these people, but is based on the strategic direction Amway is taking, which is to focus on fewer centers but larger, managing the processes from start to finish."

The closure of the service center will be almost ten years after it began operations in the country. See "Amway Opens Service Center in Costa Rica".
