Weeks ago, the Executive Port Commission (CEPA) informed that on August 26th of this year, the technical and economic offers were received, and the opening of the technical offers was carried out by the Evaluation Commission. After the analysis, it was concluded that the proposal made up by a partnership of investors from Honduras and Germany fully complied with the technical requirements.

For this international tender, only the offer proposed by Alutech, S.A. de C.V. was accepted, as informed at the end of September.

The official CEPA document details that in the economic offer the consortium offered the following values:

-12.1% which corresponds to the percentage that it will pay annually to CEPA as a variable fee for the total income obtained, in addition, it will make an annual payment as a fixed fee and other payments established in the contract.

-8% which corresponds to the percentage in the reduction of the total tariffs for basic commercial services of the Cargo Terminal.

International Tender: PPP for Cargo Terminal

Air Terminal Expansion Rejected

In El Salvador, a union of employees at the Monseñor Romero airport opposes the project to expand the cargo terminal, which is expected to be developed through a public-private alliance.

The project to expand the cargo terminal of the air terminal, under the concept of a public-private partnership (APP), already has a draft of the tender bases, however, is rejected by the Union of Workers of the Airport Industry and Related (SITTEAIES).

Financing Sought for Airport Expansion

$19 million is needed for the expansion of the cargo terminal at the Monseñor Romero Airport in El Salvador, and companies interested in participating in the public-private partnership are being sought.

Authorities at the Ministry of Public Works and Fomilienio II, informed that one of the projects that will be developed under the PPP modality is the " ...Improvement of infrastructure, processes and equipment at the current AIESMOARG Cargo Terminal, to increase the volume of import and export cargo by approximately 40%, which will allow a greater flow of goods and services. The project contemplates the possibility of expansion and construction of a Cargo Terminal."
