Alterra drops legal suit over Costa Rica airport contract
Alterra, the company that operates Costa Rica's Juan Santamaría airport, said it would drop its legal claim against the authorities as part of a package that would transfer its responsibilities to a consortium headed by Houston Airport System (HAS).

Jeffery Scheferman, president of the HAS Development Corporation, said that the case would be closed for his company too.
The US consortium has the backing of the Comptroller General of the Republic to operate and expand Juan Santamaría airport.
Houston Airport, the administrator of the Juan Santamaria airport, was granted the concession for the expansion of the Liberia airport.
The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) is to finance the modernization of Costa Rica's Juan Santamaría airport.
Companies from Argentina, Colombia and the United States are exploring the possibility of operating the Juan Santamaría Airport, Costa Rica's largest. The government accuses the current operator of failing to fulfill its contractual obligations.
