$90 Million for Panamanian Agriculture

From its $90 million budget, the Agriculture Ministry has earmarked $10 million for the cold chain program.

Such program intends to reduce losses caused by the lack of adequate conservation processes in the sector, explained Víctor Pérez, Agricultural Development minister.

"Most of the funds of the cold chain project will be used to improve existing infrastructure in Boquete, Volcán, Las Lajas and Azuero, as well as improving the capital city's farmers market ('Mercado de Abastos'). Special vehicles for food conservation will also be purchased", reports Prensa.com.
