$90 Million for Panamanian Agriculture
From its $90 million budget, the Agriculture Ministry has earmarked $10 million for the cold chain program.

Such program intends to reduce losses caused by the lack of adequate conservation processes in the sector, explained Víctor Pérez, Agricultural Development minister.
The Ministry of the Presidency is putting out to tender the design, construction and implementation of an integrated cold chain logistics system.
As the final link in the Cold Chain, Mercapanamá may be used for agro-industrial processes for exports.
The new contract includes both the public market for $10 million, and also the construction of the Abasto Market for $15 million.
The project that aims to reduce post harvest losses in Panama started with the creation of the Cold Chain Secretary.
