$50 million business park inaugurated in Guatemala

'El Cortijo' business zone, measuring 25 blocks and 120,000 m2 in construction, was inaugurated by the Confiansa development company.

It is located on the Atanasio Tzul road in Zone 12. According to the article published in el Periódico de Guatemala, the zone is the largest on the isthmus and will generate more than 6,000 jobs.

The developer is the Guatemalan company CONFIANSA.

More Industrial Parks Planned in Costa Rica

Four developments are in process of obtaining official and environmental permits, and could begin construction in mid-2014 or early 2015.

Elfinancierocr.com reports: "One will be called Green Park and will be located in San Jose, Alajuela, another will be named Tech Park and will be in the district of Ulloa de Heredia, a third will operate as Life Free Zone & Business Park in El Coyol in Alejuela, and a fourth, called Lindora Park business park, will be located in Pozos de Santa Ana ".

China's Industrial Parks

Costa Rica is considering adopting the Chinese model of development of Special Economic Zones in order to promote the country as a high-tech industrial center.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica reads:

On the second day of their visit to China, the Costa Rican delegation accompanying the President of the Republic, Laura Chinchilla Miranda, visited the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) located in the town of that name, with the aim of learning from this successful model, and adapting it to the reality of the Costa Rican environment.

Industrial Park to be built in Costa Rica

Gestión Inmobiliaria de Centroamérica is designing and developing a master plan for the construction of an industrial park located in Alajuela.

The master plan includes several zones for the commercial and services sector of the park, industrial building, mini warehouses, customer parking lots and areas for storing containers.

More Investment in Nicaraguan Free Trade Zones

The Nicaraguan Federation Chamber of Private Free Zones plans to install 15 companies in 6 new industrial parks within the country this year.

The secretary of the Nicaraguan Federation Chamber of Private Free Zones (FCNZFP in Spanish), Mario Zelaya, said the new industrial parks will be located in Niquinohomo, Masaya, Leon and El Viejo (all areas on the Pacific side).
