2013 IBD Governors Meeting to be Held in Panama

The annual Inter-American Development Bank meeting will be held in Panama City and will host more than 4,000 representatives from public and private sectors from 48 countries.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will hold its next annual meeting from 14th to 18th March 2013 in Panama City, in the presence of the economic authorities of its 48 member countries, announced Tomás Bermúdez, representative in Panama of this multilateral organization, reported Capital.com.pa.

The last time the IDB representatives met in Panama was 35 years ago.

Panama has been a member of the IDB since it was founded over 50 years ago. During this period, the IDB has approved more than $3.15 billion in financing for the country and $88 million in technical cooperation grants.

At the IDB meeting which is being held in Managua, the countries will request to operate with a higher fiscal deficit in their public finances.
