11.3 million euros contract for property registry

El Salvador gave the control to modernize the property registry to Indra, a Spanish company.

Elsalvador.com reports on its website: "The contract was granted to the temporary union of companies made up of Indra - with 94% of the shares - and the rest by MAP-LINE, a Spanish company that specializes in digital surveying services."

The Costa Rican National Registry has started using a modern cadastral map for certifying property deeds which will provide greater security for people buying land.

Deeds will include two aerial views of the property or land, reports The Costa Rica News website.

The new maps include names, plot numbers, and district or cantons divisions, among other features.

Costa Rica to Update its Mapping Data

By the end of 2012 the country expects to have a new system in place to enable access to a database of cartographic information.

The project will be carried out in stages with information on 32 cantons by 2010 and 56 by December 2012. To obtain information on Costa Rica's full 81 cantons will require the negotiation of further credit.

Indra to Modernize Air Control in Panama

The Spanish company was awarded the $10.3 million air traffic management contracts in Panama and Ecuador.

In Panama, the company will continue the second phase of the project that began in 2004. It will install a secondary radar system at the Cerro Galeras station, which will improve air traffic control.

Guatemala fights fraud with new real-estate police

July 2008

Guatemala has opened a special office to fight fraud in the registration of real-estate titles.

The new Directorate of Registry Security will be supported by law enforcement and judicial agencies.
