$102 million agro-industrial investment proposed for Honduras

A British group offered the Government of Honduras to invest in milk and meat processing plants at Olancho.

The La Prensa of Honduras reported that Hector Hernandez, Head of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Livestock: "met with investors from the British company, Anglo American Project; they are interested in opening two plants in partnership with producers from Olancho.

"This is a great opportunity. With this project, producers would be providing an answer to the problems that have been generated in the country in regards to milk and meat," said Hernandez."

Milk producers in Aguán Valley, with the support of BANADESA and the Agriculture Secretariat are seeking to industrialize.

The web portal Laprensahn.com published: "To make this initiative a reality which would generate employment in the Aguán Valley, milk producers from this municipality have met with producers in the department of Colón as well as representatives from the Tocoa Chamber of Commerce several times to refine the details of what would be the processing plant."

Nicaragua and Honduras: Joint Agricultural Business

Peru Mission Inspects Meat Plants in Costa Rica

Plants and establishments producing beef in Costa Rica, are being inspected as a requirement before the opening of the Peruvian market for this product.

From Monday 18 to Friday 22, the technical mission from the South American country, will be inspecting establishments such as Visión Comercial, Coopemontecillos, Ganaderos Industriales de Costa Rica and Frionet.

Nicaragua: $100 million in Livestock Factory

With an initial investment of $30 million Slaughterhouse Sukarne Group has inaugurated the first intensive animal farming factory in the country.

The total project, with a planned investment of $100 million in 18 months, consists of a feedlot area, an animal feed factory and a slaughterhouse.
