$100 million investment for Panama Pacific coast

In the next four years Fort Amador Resort & Marina is planning to invest in the construction of a dock and terminal for cruise and other ships.

According to prensa.com "The dock, which will cost $8 million, will suitable to serve as the home port for cruise ships, said Carlos Tunon, general manager of Fort Amador Resort & Marina, the concessionaire of Flamenco island on the Panamanian Pacific coast.

Within the next 8 months, the Amador marina will increase from the current 157 piers to 260. "The number of docks for mega-yachts will also increase from 4 to 6," said Tunon.

With an investment of $1.5 million, Fuerte Amador Flamenco Marina will go from 160 to 260 dock posts in 2010.

The Marina is currently at 100% capacity because 120 of the 160 floating dock posts are permanently for the local clientele and the remaining 40 are for yachts in transit.
