$100 million Investment in Logistics Center in Panama is announced

The supermarket chain Riba Smith will expand the food technology industrial park to produce and distribute all kinds of goods from there.

This is the first private company that is backing a logistics center of this kind and size in the country. The industrial park could be in full swing in April 2014 and is located in the town of La Pita in the border area between La Chorrera and Capira.

The general manager of the chain, Javier Riba told Prensa.com that the company seeks to replace the bakery located on the site of vía Transístmica and put it within the province of Panama.

Riba said the complex features five buildings, but the one which is the most advanced is the baked goods plant where machinery has already been installed. "In this plant we want to continue working with our philosophy of "zero chemicals" but with a modern production method," he said.
